The small beach town of Playa Matapalo is basically half way between Quepos and Dominical. There is a turn off from the main Coastal Highway that takes you through a little town with a small market, high school, and football field, and then there is another turn off to the beach. The road along the beach has a handful of B&Bs and boutique hotels, a few restaurants, and a small market.

The beach at Playa Matapalo is absolutely beautiful and stretches for miles in either direction and is lined with tropical palms trees and green vegetation. Numerous secluded areas to park and bring a picnic to enjoy the sand and waves all day long. The real estate in the Matapalo area includes ocean view homes and property on the mountain range overlooking the beach and coastline.

If you desire to be within walking distance to the beach there are lots for sale on the flat land near the beach. And there is also commercial land along the Coastal Highway as well. Great location with the restaurants and amenities of Quepos and Manuel Antonio 20 minutes away and the town of Dominical 15 minutes away.
